Lesson 2 Day 1: Ahoy Come Aboard My Ship!
Project Description:
Students will be imagining their own pirate adventure. They will imagine the place they are traveling to to find their treasure and will design and paint their own pirate ships!

Artists can create a two-dimensional composition with three-dimensional elements through the use of shapes and patterns.

The students in the videos below are demonstrating effective planning skills by sketching out their ideas in their sketchbooks!
The student in the images below took his sketchbook planning a step further by exploring and planning the colors he will use in his painting.
Once given some acrylic paint to experiment with, the student in the image below began to paint geometric patterns.
Some students experimented with mixing colors, for example the students in the image
and video below explored creating new colors by mixing colors together.
The student in the image/video below completed exploring paints early and immediately began
to go back to sketch pirates ships in his sketch book
