During this spring semester, I was enrolled in Concepts in Art Education (ART 325). In the beginning of the semester we were introduced to the other teachers in our service learning groups. My group had two other student teachers besides myself. Our group was assigned the class Community Connections. I remember when my group sat down to construct our first lesson plan, all of us were uncertain but eager to begin. After the first lesson plan the following ones came at ease. With each lesson taught and created I began to feel more and more confident in my role as an art teacher. By the time I had completed teaching my fifth lesson I knew for sure that teaching was the profession for me. Being able to participate in this service learning experience helped me develop more confidence creating lessons and teaching them. I feel very fortunate to have gotten this opportunity to work with this group of students and learn from them.
