RESUME

My teaching philosophy is that everyone is an artist. I believe in the idea that everything students create is art, there is no right or wrong way to create art. Art is a way of self-expression as well as self-healing, which are two important necessities to live a happy life. Another belief I hold dear to my heart, is the idea that students should have the opportunity to create art that is personal and artwork they are passionate about. I feel as though incorporating lessons that allow students to gain not only artistic skills but interpersonal and communication skills as well is also extremely important. In my classroom I will have my students tell their own unique stories through art and help them learn to use art to channel their thoughts and ideas. My goal is to teach students that art is more than just making projects for a grade, it is a way to express themselves and cope with and understand everyday life as well as the world around them.
